A Little About the Owner
Our owner, Alison Mora, was born and raised just up the road from Sacramento in the small town of Yuba City. Her parents moved there when her dad bought his own business in 1982. Her dad continued to own and operate his own business for over 30 years in a small town that felt the upside of the economy slightly less than bigger cities like Sacramento and felt the downside at an even greater magnitude.
Growing up with this experience taught her first-hand what it takes for a small business owner to be successful in the long run and make it through the hard times. Alison says now that she is a small business owner, she is extremely grateful for the perspective that experience gives her looking at the needs of the businesses she serves.
Qualification and Experience
Alison graduated from Chico State University with honors and began her accounting career in 2005. In her first 10 years as a CPA, she was employed by small, medium, and large-sized accounting firms, working for and learning from CPAs with unique backgrounds. The variety of experience has given her a wide breadth of knowledge, allowing her to serve her clients better. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University while working full-time as a CPA.
A Little About Our Firm
In 2015 Alison decided to make the leap and buy her tax and bookkeeping practice alongside her wife and now business partner, Sarene Chapman. Since then, they have molded that tax and bookkeeping practice into Mora Chapman CPAs and made it what it is today.
